My God, I give you this day. I offer you, now, all of the good that I shall do and I promise to accept, for love of you, all of the difficulty that I shall meet. Help me to conduct myself during this day in a manner pleasing to you. Amen.
Saint Francis de Sales, pray for us
Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Being Catholic is not always easy. The world seeks to pull you away with all manner of distractions. If we do not find ways to focus and practice our faith, it will be lost to us.
In my professional and personal life, I’ve learned many techniques to set strategies, plans, and practice daily routines to align actions toward objectives. However, my faith life has not always been as focused. I plan to be more intentional in the next stage of my own faith journey.
I have also taken up the challenge to share my journey. Sharing is a good way to learn. It requires you to understand before you can explain. It allows you to exchange ideas to refine your practice and learn more than you might on your own. Sharing can also be a way to hold yourself accountable.
That is where Being Roman Catholic wishes to help by supplying you with information, resources, and ways to practice the faith.
Being Roman Catholic Mobile App
The idea for this site first began with a simple application. Being Catholic was started as an experiment to bring simple resources to your phone, tablet, or desktop. It is all part of a daily practice routine of prayer, reading, and reflection. There are plenty of apps out there, but I wanted something easier to navigate.
The app provides links for daily readings, common prayers, and Catholic news. Like the site, the app will grow to include more resources and more diversified sources. If you are interest, check it out at https://www.beingcatholicmobile.com.
What’s Next
The first steps in this journey are small. You’ll find on the site several common prayers and links to other resources. These will grow over time along with additional material about the faith, practices, and beliefs. I’m working to add simple information and guides. I’ll provide reviews for third party resources I use. We’ll see where it goes from there.
